RYLA / Interact
Teegan Davis, President of the Sun Prairie East High School Interact Club, will be our speaker at our Friday, June 7th meeting. Teegan is a junior who attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp in May of 2023. After attending the camp, Teegan proposed an Interact Club for her high school. District 6250 Changemakers Rotary Club gladly became the district sponsor in early 2024 and the high school officially recognized this club. Patrick Anderson, business teacher, is the faculty advisor and coaches Teegan’s tennis and lacrosse teams. Teegan is a member of the Cap City Cougars Varsity hockey team. Her team took fourth place in the WIAA state tournament and received the team Sportsmanship Award in girls’ hockey for the 2024 winter State Tournaments. The Cap City Cougars is a co-op team with athletes from Sun Prairie East, Sun Prairie West, DeForest, Madison East, Madison La Follette, and Waunakee. Teegan is also enrolled in the STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) academy of Madison College. She is finishing her first year and will continue during her senior year.
We are very much looking forward to meeting Teegan and hearing about her RYLA experience and how it inspired her to start the Interact Club at her high school. Teegan attended RYLA again this year as a camp counselor and will also be participating in a summer Rotary exchange to Italy.
